Be Present. This is the artist's intention: to consciously and intuitively respond to the miraculous connection that occurs daily--when the Earth reaches for the sky.

Landscape painting begins with the artist's impression of color, and the emotion therein. The artist becomes a cast in the process, molded by the art he or she creates. The wet on wet paint flows and drips in the artist's rhythm. The artist submits to the process. In painting, the artist allows colors to evolve and interact to portray the essence of the landscape. The artist is a spectator, and painting becomes an act of discovery, providing a grander horizon of which we can all benefit from.

"After the first brush stroke, the canvas assumes a life of its own; at this point, you become both governor and spectator to your own event."
